The UXDX community gathering in Tallinn

UXDX Tallinn met up on 26 August – four speakers, one big question: how do we design and build in the age of AI?

Erkki Teedla speaks beside a large projected slide headed “The takeaway: pick by outcome, not by habit”, seen from above with the audience seated in rows.
Erkki Teedla, UX/UI Designer & Developer at Codeborne, presenting.

Erkki Teedla started the session by comparing different design methods against each other. The key takeaway was to choose what works best, rather than what feels familiar.

Laura Ader presents from a laptop on a wooden lectern beside a tall window, with an audience member sitting on the window bench.

Laura Ader took us through her all-AI design process. Her verdict: Claude Code is now her main tool.

Laura Leon, with long blue hair, speaks in front of a brick and stone wall, holding a presentation clicker, with the projection screen at the edge of the frame.
Laura Leon, Head of Design at Obsidian.

Laura Leon explored the tension between speed and quality. Her advice was clear: automate what can be repeated, and give thoughtful work the time it deserves.

Kaisa Laur gestures towards a projected line chart of price indexes with the Canada line highlighted.

The final session, led by Kaisa Laur focused on making data visualisation accessible. A chart works only when people can understand what they are seeing!

The event would not have come together without the organisational skills of Helen Gorban and Elis Laasik, Piret Seeman’s thoughtful moderation, Madli Nurme’s photographs, and Codeborne’s generous hospitality.

Thank you to everyone who contributed their time, ideas, and care to making this event possible, and to all the participants who joined!
